Alexander Miller is a Kazakh born multidisciplinary artist based in Dresden. He started breaking at the age of twelve. Over the past years, he developed his style which combines flexibility, acrobatics, and traditional breaking with contemporary dance. Following his curiosity Kelox explored the theatre stages while dancing for companies such as the Nobulus company in „Out of the Shadow“ (2013), for the the Staatsschauspiel Dresden in “Reckless 2 – Lebendige Schatten”(2012-2013) or for the Dresden based company Go Plastic in „Go west young men“ (2015). In early 2013, he was one of the founders of THE SAXONZ, an ambitious collective of extraordinary dancers focusing on international breaking competitions. In 2014 and 2015 The Saxonz won the “Battle of the Year Germany” – the national qualifier of the world final breakdance championship in Braunschweig. Through his continuous work in Dresden a close relationship to HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts developed as a continuous source for inspiration. In 2015 Miller was part of the creative team that developed “Floor on Fire – Battle of Styles” which is a unique dance format that combines classical, social and urban dances taking place in regular intervals in HELLERAU. In this context Miller shared the dance floor with dancers from the Semperoper Ballet, The Forsythe Company, Constanza Macras/Dorky Park & Ballet Preljocaj and had guest performances in France, Austria and Czech Republic. Besides his activities as a dancer, he finished his Master of Arts degree in Visual Communication at the Bauhaus-University Weimar in 2017. Driven by his passion for dance, the next natural step led him to the Palucca University of Dance Dresden, where he started his Master in Choreography in August 2018. Shortly after starting his choreography studies, Miller created the short duet BROTHERHOOD (premiere April 2019), which was invited and presented at the Urban Art Festival in Herne (November 2019) and the Tanz Moderne Tanz Festival in Chemnitz (September 2019). With the solo LAYOVER, which premiered in September 2020 in the Festspielhaus Hellerau, Miller completed his studies with a Master of Arts in Choreography. Since then he has been working as a freelance dancer, choreographer and dance teacher.
